Ferdi is ordained a Deacon with the imposition of the hands of the Bishop.
Deacon Ferdi receives the "Dalmatic,"
the vestment of the Deacon.
Deacon Ferdi is commissioned to preach the Gospel and to preach by receiving from the Bishop the Book of Gospels.
The Gifts of Bread and Wine are brought to the altar.
Deacon Ferdi helps prepare
the gifts of bread and wine.
Deacon Ferdi incenses the Bishop . . .
and then the whole congregation.
The Consecration at the Mass.
Within the year it is planned that Deacon Ferdi will be ordained to the priesthood.
"Permanent" Deacon Bill Keller (St. Agnes Cathedral) and Deacon Ferdi raise the consecrated bread and wine with the Bishop at the end of the Eucharistic Prayer.
Sharing the Sign of Peace with fellow members of the clergy.
