Dear
CCM Students:
Catholic Campus Ministry is pleased to announce the Scholarship for Catholic Student Leaders. The scholarship recognizes outstanding leadership and service in the Church. Eight Scholarships of $1,250.00 each will be awarded to Catholic undergraduate students based on academic achievement*, leadership, and their service to the Church through participation and involvement** in the campus ministry here at the Catholic Student Center.
Students wishing to be considered for the scholarship may obtain an application form from Joe Seitzer, or use the on-line form which appears below. Selection will be based on information contained in this application. Special attention should be given to carefully completing the application with respect to involvement at CCM, leadership roles at CCM, and the quality of writing when answering all the questions.
The application deadline, which means receipt in the Center, will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
A committee will review the applications and a decision will be reached by December 11, 2009, so the award can be transmitted to the appropriate university (college) office. Participation and Involvement at CCM may be verified by the staff of CCM.
Financial need may be considered, but it will not be a prerequisite to consideration. Financial need may be used by the committee in reaching a decision should the number of applicants equally qualified exceeds the scholarship awards available.
Recipients may be eligible for renewal on a competitive basis, and must complete 24 credits at Missouri State or Drury Universities, and demonstrate continuing leadership, involvement and participation at CCM. Maximum number of times a scholarship may be awarded is four, one for each year, freshmen through senior years.
* Academic Achievement is an important part of the college experience. A minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA on courses at Missouri State or Drury is required to apply. For first semester freshmen, an ACT composite of 24 and placement in the top 25% of the senior class is required in place of the GPA for upper-class students.
** Participation and Involvement - See question 3 below: Activities, Programs and Projects. Freshmen are encouraged to relate their involvement in their home parish.
